Coach Muyiwa Odubela

Lead Facilitator / Coach

Muyiwa is the Lead Facilitator of the DRILL Capacity Building Academy, and under his leadership, DRILL has evolved into a growing capacity-building ecosystem impacting hundreds of students, undergraduates, graduates and young professionals through the DRILL Camp and other initiatives.

Prior to founding the Academy, Muyiwa’s journey had already been defined by leadership, advocacy, mentorship and service. His professional journey in law and advocacy further exposed him to the importance of competence, preparation, communication, critical thinking and leadership—qualities that would later become central to his approach to capacity development.

As a student of law, he served in several student leadership capacities, including President of the OOU Law Clinic, President (Lord Advocate) of Legal Magnates & Company, President of the Infinity Foundation, and President of the Christian Law Students’ Fellowship of Nigeria, amongst others. Through these platforms, he organised academic and professional development programmes, created opportunities for students to engage leading practitioners and judges, and personally mentored young people navigating the demands of education and professional life.

His commitment to service has also extended beyond positions of formal leadership. Muyiwa has consistently volunteered his time, skills and experience to social-impact programmes and community development initiatives across diverse organisations, contributing to causes focused on education, youth development, access to justice, humanitarian support and community transformation.

As Project Coordinator for an access-to-justice initiative involving the Network of University Legal Aid Institutions (NULAI) and the Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA), he led efforts focused on pre-trial detainees and contributed to an intervention that facilitated the release of several detainees. Through the Infinity Foundation, he was also involved in initiatives supporting education, healthcare, correctional centres, orphanages and vulnerable communities.

Today, Muyiwa continues to lead DRILL with the same conviction that inspired its journey in February 2024; a conviction that has shaped much of his life’s work: that people should not merely be educated, they should be intentionally developed, equipped and challenged to become more than they currently are.

To Muyiwa, building people is one of the most enduring forms of impact. His ambition is therefore not merely to produce successful individuals, but to help raise world-class individuals who are exceptionally equipped to excel in their pursuits, lead their generation and make an indelible impact on the world. For him, the work is simple: develop people, build capacity, and multiply impact.
