One of the earliest things we learned at DRILL is simple: knowing is not the same as becoming. You can attend a session on discipline and remain undisciplined. So we asked a better question — how do we make development personal? The answer was accountability, and it became the Build-Up Buddy (BUB). BUBs follow up, encourage, observe progress and keep participants engaged. They ask the questions that matter: Did you attend? What did you do with what you learned? What changed? It’s a simple idea, but it reflects something fundamental about DRILL: transformation is personal, but growth does not have to happen alone.
