Zaynab Omobolanle Abdussalam is a lawyer, mentor, and youth development advocate whose journey is driven by excellence, leadership, service, and a commitment to developing others. She graduated from Olabisi Onabanjo University with a Second Class Upper Division and subsequently obtained a First Class at the Nigerian Law School, Abuja Campus, where she received the Director-General’s Prize for First Class Students.
Zaynab currently practices at Streamsowers & Köhn, where her experience cuts across dispute resolution, energy and natural resources, corporate and commercial law, and regulatory advisory. She is particularly interested in building expertise in emerging and specialised areas of law while developing the competence required to operate at the highest levels of legal practice.
Her commitment to leadership and mentorship began as a student. At Legal Magnates & Company, she organised professional development programmes and tutored junior colleagues. She also led the Prisoners’ Rights Advocacy Initiative at Olabisi Onabanjo University and later served as a Group Leader at the Nigerian Law School, where she was recognised as Best Group Leader.
Beyond legal practice, Zaynab is actively involved in mentorship and capacity building. Through the DRILL Capacity Building Academy and other initiatives, she contributes to the development of students and young professionals, particularly in the areas of career development, professional skills, and personal growth.
Her commitment to social impact also extends to her membership of One African Child Initiative, a non-governmental organisation focused on education and youth development. Through the organisation, she has participated in initiatives involving young people in schools and correctional centres, reflecting her belief in creating opportunities for young people irrespective of their circumstances.
