The DRILL Academy Foundation is a special-purpose vehicle of DRILL Capacity Building Academy created to provide participants with opportunities to translate the principles, values and lessons acquired through DRILL into practical acts of service and measurable social impact. At DRILL, we believe development should never end with the individual. Participants should have opportunities to lead, serve, care, solve real problems and make an impact. The Foundation therefore serves as a bridge between learning and doing.

How We Serve

Community-Impact Initiatives

Through carefully designed community-impact initiatives, DRILL participants can take their knowledge beyond the classroom and into communities where it can become useful. These initiatives may include:

School outreaches
Educational and personal-development sessions
Visits to orphanages and care institutions
Engagements with correctional centres
Community service projects
Youth empowerment activities
Donation and support initiatives
Mentorship programmes
Other purpose-driven interventions

The objective is to develop a culture of responsible citizenship and practical leadership. Participants are encouraged to identify needs, develop solutions, work collaboratively, engage communities respectfully and take responsibility for the outcomes of their interventions.

In this way, the Foundation becomes an extension of the DRILL learning experience: What is learned in DRILL should find expression beyond DRILL.

The Foundation also creates an opportunity for DRILL alumni, ambassadors, volunteers, facilitators, partners and other stakeholders to continue contributing to causes that align with the Academy’s broader vision of human development and positive social transformation.

Ultimately, we want participants to leave DRILL with more than certificates and knowledge.

The Foundation

We want them to leave with a disposition to serve, the confidence to act and the capacity to create change.
